Arena Club Aquatics traveled to Maryland State Championships for
the first time in team history. On the first night of
competition 4 swimmers swam in 4 events and set 6 best times!
Rachael Lodanski dropped 26 seconds in her 500 Free to finish
7th overall.
Sara Tillie dropped 11 seconds in her 1000 Free to finish 14th
overall.
David Gross dropped 19 seconds in his 1000 Free to finish 6th
overall.
Brian Wilson dropped 8 seconds in his 1000 Free, to finish 13th
overall.
David and Brian also set new best times in their 500 freestyles
with their splits in the 1000.
Incredible first night!
Day two continued in the same fashion as day one. Seven
swimmers competed today in 12 events in the morning with 3
returning for four swims in finals at night.
David Gross finished 11th in the 13-14 400 IM. Rachael
Lodanski placed 7th in the 10 & Under 200 IM.
Carrie Dukes finished 7th in the 13-14 100 Breast and in the 13-14
100 Fly became the Arena Club Aquatic's first State Champion!
Overall for the day Arena Club Aquatic swimmers swam in 16 events
and recorded 14 best times. Bring the total for the meet 20
events swum 20 best times!
Day 3 is in the books. All nine qualifiers swam today.
4 swimmers advanced to finals.
Rachael Lodanski swam to a best time in the 10 & Under 200 Free
placing 7th.
Carrie Dukes swam to a 6th place in the 13-14 50 Free and a best
time in the 200 Breast placing 11th.
Anne Tillie set two best times placing 16th in the 13-14 100 Back
and 13th in the 500 Free.
David Gross swam to a best time placing 13th in the 13-14 100 Back
and placed 12th in the 500 Free.
Today Arena Club swimmers swam in 21 events and set 12 best
times. This brings the meet total to 32 best times in 41
events.
On the last day of the Maryland State Swimming Championships Arena
Club swimmers continued their speedy ways. ACA swimmers had
best times out of 17 swims. 5 swimmers finaled on
Sunday.
Brian Wilson finished 16th in the Open 200 Fly and 11th in the 1650
Free.
Sara Tillie placed 12th in the Open 1650 Free.
David Gross finished 5th in the 13-14 200 Back and 6th in the 1650
Free.
Anne Tillie placed 16th in the 13-14 200 Back.
Carrie Dukes finished 15th in the 13-14 100 Free and 2nd in the 200
Fly.
For the meet as a whole ACA swimmers had 40 Best times out of 58
swims!
